Macro On Flickr Pro, The Journey So Far

Date February 5, 2008

I’ve recently upgraded my Flickr basic account to Pro account for two years ending November 2009. I’ve also renewed this blog’s domain name for another two years, expiring January 2010.

Now, with that being taken care of, I can now perhaps set my sight on acquiring the new Canon 450D by middle of this year.

Anyway, here’s a little secret. I also have several other blogs which I hope I can somehow turn into money making blog. So far, I have not been successful although a small amount of advertising revenue had begun to trickle in.

I’m hoping somehow that I can earn enough dollars to buy the 450D. What’s your money making secret? Care to share?

Barb Wire

Date February 1, 2008

Barbed WireThis barb wire perimeter fence is to keep the enemy away — in this case, the water buffalo herd. The free-ranging cattle can really wreak havoc to paddy plant if, by any chance, they manage to encroach into paddy field.

They can eat* graze a whole one hectare of paddy in one night, giving farmers their worst nightmare.

I took this picture many months ago at my old folks paddy field back in Sabah on the northern part of Borneo. When I was small, I used to help my parents tend padi fields. I was once a farmer — and still is, in essence and spirit.

*The word eat is used here until I remember the correct word to describe the act of cattle eating grass.
