I wouldn’t want to take close-up photos with this gadget.

On second thought I might gladly do so — depending on what object or subject I am closing up to.

I’m a bit sceptical though… this being unveiled yesterday, April 1, a day everybody was trying to fool everyone else.

Kodak describes the gadget a revolutionary camera, and named it eyeCamera 4.1 (April 1?), enabling one to take photos just the way one sees it.

Kodak said in its blog that, “This is the kind of breakthrough idea that makes us wonder why we didn’t come up with it sooner.”

Among the features, says Kodak, are:

  • “What you see is what you get” Viewfinder, enabling you to take photo “at the exact moment you see that special scene.”
  • Facial Recall Assistant which connects to a customizable “BFF file” connected to your Facebook page.
  • Image Stabilizer that works even after a glass of wine or two. It says that this feature “will ensure that all of your photos are razor sharp, maybe even sharper than you remember.”

Read the rest of eyeCamera 4.1 features and be marvelled at the eye-popper’s ability.
