Panasonic DMC-ZS3
Digital Photography Review puts together a review of several ultrazoom pocketable compacts ranging from 10x – 12x optical zooms and proclaims Panasonic DMC ZS1 and ZS3 to be the joint winner.
The two cameras beat five other models in terms of image quality, namely the Sony H20, Canon PowerShot SX200 IS, Samsung HZ10W, and Olympus Stylus 9000. The camera review site attributed this to the Japanese giant’s longer experience in the ultrazoom pocketable compacts, through the TZ or travel zoom series.

“The image quality of both cameras is up there with the very best in almost any shooting situations, be it bright daylight or low light conditions,” DP Review says.
If I were to choose between the two, however, I would go for the ZS3 as it has HD video and better deployment of the 16:9 aspect ratio — by utilising extra pixels in its 12.7 effective megapixels to achieve the ratio rather than cropping from the 4:3 ratio image.
