Canon Develops Hybrid Image Stabilisation System To Compensate Angle and Shift Camera Shake

Canon is expected to roll out new camera lenses before the end of the year, featuring its newly-developed optical Hybrid Image Stabilizer (IS) technology that compensates for both angle camera shake and shift camera shake.

Addressing the shift camera shake will enhance macro photography shooting experience as the new system compensates shift-based shaking which, Canon says, is more pronounced in macro photography and other close-range shooting. [Source: Canon]

wow, i’m excited about this. note that i’m nikon user.

if canon do something about this new tech, nikon will soon follow with better tech and (hopefully) cheaper price :p

My guess is Nikon’s R&D team is already working on it.. :-)
