Many people I know still shoot macro photographs despite having a decent DSLR macro set. While the photos taken with these DSLRs with dedicated macro lenses are arguably superior, there are things that just click with point and shoot cameras when shooting macro photos.
A reader who goes by the name “Ruchai” is among those with both cameras — he currently owns a Canon G9 and a Nikon D200 plus a 105mm macro lens. He says he prefer to shoot using the point and shoot camera and only shoot with DSLR on certain occasions.
