The rumour is too strong to ignore — Pentax is going to announce a new “K” camera tomorrow, tentatively referred to as the K-X in the rumour mills.
The specification and pictures of the camera are now leaked, with the most comprehensive ones available at Photo Rumors (got to get used to the American spelling from now on). The new Pentax seems to be targeted for the premium entry-level segment, taking it right into the playgrounds of Canon 500D and Nikon D5000.
If the leaked specs are anything to go by, the new camera also signals Pentax entry into the race for ISO performance, with the new K capable of going up to ISO 12800.
Highlights include 12.4 megapixel CMOS image sensor with sensor-shift Shake Reduction, 24fps HD video, filter modes, HDR capture, 4.7 fps continuous shooting, 11-point AF, AA batteries, ISO 100-12800…
