First thing first, let me say it from the outset that only a Lomo camera can do a perfect lomography, whatever perfect means.

Having said that, there are numerous ways to imitate the lomo effect either using special conversion lens like Diana’s or simply Photoshop the image.

Or, better still, if you are a Pentax K-7 owner, you can attempt to shoot lomo by turning on the in-camera digital filters and tweaking them further to achieve lomo look-alike pictures. The result may not be as random and unpredictable as shooting with a dedicated lomo camera, but it is worth the effort.

All the shots here are from my very first experiment trying to mimic the photographic chaos that only lomo cameras seems to be able to create.

Not quite close to the real thing but it is promising. With more practise and trial and error, I should be able to perfect the way the camera mimic lomography.

This should serve as a short-term solution to my crave for lomography until such time that I purchase one of those Lomo cameras, which some say are cheap but only if you buy them in Russia.
