It’s October, the month the head-turner EOS 7D — Canon’s answer to Nikon’s D300s — is set to flood the market around the world.

As usual, there a bound to be delays for the market in Southeast Asia, which means, consumers in this part of the world will only get to hold the camera by middle of this month, if they are lucky.

In Singapore the 7D’s recommended retail price is SG$2,699 (body only), SG$3,249 (with EF-S 18-135 IS lens) and SG$3,849 (with EF-S 15-85 IS lens). As a comparison, Nikon D300s is selling in Singapore at SG$2,999 (body only).

Canon Malaysia has yet to state the price for the EOS 7D. Nikon D300s is selling at RM6,698 (body only) in Malaysia.
