The new Canon EOS 7D is now available in Malaysia at the price of RM9,388 (with EF-S 15-85IS kit lens) and RM7,888 (with EF-S 18-135IS kit lens).
Canon EOS 7D
It’s direct competitor, the Nikon D300s is priced at RM6,698 (body only).
In mid-August I bought my first DSLR. Had I waited a little bit longer, the DSLR would have been a 7D and not a Pentax K-7. All in all I paid about RM7,600 (US$1 = RM3.49) for the K-7 which comprised the body, a 18-250mm lens, a 4GB SanDisk Extra SDHC memory card, a LCD protector and a lens protector.
But then if I buy the same amount of purchase with the 7D, I could have ended up spending more than RM10,000, which is very expensive for my kind of income.
Did I regret my purchase of the K-7? Yes and no. No because there is no way I can afford the new Nikon D3s and yes, because of the same reason.
