Digital Photography Review has posted a 31-page review of the D300s, Nikon’s formidable mid-range camera.
Nikon D300s
With a DSLR as strong as the D300s, you can pretty much expect what the verdict would be.
With the latest entry on the D300s, DP Review has now posted a complete review of three cameras touted to be competing with one another namely the D300s, Canon EOS 7D and Pentax K-7. The review further affirms Pentax K-7’s high ISO incapability, losing embarrassingly to both cameras at ISO 3200 and 6400.
Of Nikon’s outstanding high ISO performance, DP Review says, it’s not really about the sensor “but because its JPEG processing did a great job of using producing likeable images at high ISO settings.”
So Pentax, will there be a “JPEG processing” firmware update to bring down the noise level, say by 10 per cent?
