Quick! Make A Screenshot of DPReview’s Old Rating System

DPReview has posted its review of the Nikon D3s, its first under a new rating system that does away with the term Highly Recommended, Recommended, Above Average and the likes.

Instead, you will now see horizontal charts in which the reviewer rates the camera’s several features on a scale of 1 to 10.

DPReview says it will also update all of last year’s review to the new format. That means all the Highly Recommended, Recommended, Above Average and Average ratings will also be gone from those pages.

Many would miss the old rating system but of course it’s time to move on. I kind of like the old system so I’ve made a screenshot of DPReview’s conclusion of my favourite camera, the Pentax K-7 — for keepsake and for comparison purposes with the new rating system.
