It is good to know that camera manufacturers continue feature vari-angle LCD screen on their cameras albeit only on selected few. Despite the frenzied announcement of new cameras during the first few weeks of the year, only four of the one hundred or so cameras have articulating LCD.

The following are just four cameras with vari-angle LCD monitor announced so far this year, and thankfully, these cameras are special in their own rights even without the swivelling monitor:

1. Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2

This year, Panasonic takes the functionality of tilt-and-swivel LCD monitor to a level higher by introducing touch screen on board its new camera, the G2. The feature allows user select which object to focus and take pictures by tapping on the screen.

2. Samsung EX1 [TL500]

A fast lens, at the range of f1.8 – f2.4, coupled with a 614,000 dots tilt-and-swivel LCD screen makes an interesting camera even more interesting.
