No Samsung EX1 For North Borneo

It has become almost a tradition now for me to take to Borneo a new photography gear each time I return there for my twice yearly holiday.

It started in December 2008 with the purchase of the Canon SX1 IS and ever since, I’ve been able to take with me some new gear or another each time I return to the Island — a Raynox DCR-250 conversion lens in June 2009, the Pentax K-7 December 2009 and a Pentax WR macro lens this coming June.

It seem my small arsenal of photography equipment is growing according to the number of trip I made to the island.

Too bad, I won’t be bringing back the new Samsung EX1 to Borneo this time around because the camera is not yet on sale in Malaysia. The last time I heard, it may only be trickling into the market here in July.

What? That’s a light years away! The EX1 would have been a wonderful camera for street shooting around Borneo towns and villages without raising the alarm the way a DSLR does.
