For everybody’s information, the EX1 is still not available in my area, Kuala Lumpur; which, in hindsight, is a good thing, for me at least, because the long-drawn out delay gives me an option to reconsider my plan now that Panasonic is rumoured to come up with probably a LX3 replacement.
If the EX1 is LX3 killer, I guess the upcoming Panasonic camera, if indeed there is one, is the EX1 undertaker.
According to the 43rumors website, the new Panasonic will have a Leica lens and a Micro Four-Thirds-sized sensor, which is larger than the LX3′s, EX1′s and Canon G11′s one-point-something-inch sensor.
The website expects Panasonic to announce the camera next month, the month Samsung expects to ship the EX1 here.
There are several things in my wishlist for the EXI killer: a large sensor, sub-f2.0 lens, optical zoom of more than 3x, interval shooting (a must), 24mm wide-angle lens (also a must), HD video, hotshoe… and another must, a swivelling LCD screen!
