Cambridge In Colour has just completed a three-part series on macro photography covering essentially all the must-know topics on how to take close up photographs in terms of the gears and techniques.

The first part is an introduction on what entails macro photography, touching on issues like depth of field, sharpness, control as well as composition.

Conversion lens and extension tubes are among the topics discussed in the second part, including the pros and cons of each one, while the third part touched specifically on macro lenses and image quality. A must read.

You can also follow the reaction to the series at dpreview forum.
