Hasselblad has release pictures of the Iceland volcano eruption that disrupted air travel in Europe in April. The photographs, by Swedish photographer Hans Strand, were taken with Hasselblad HD-40.

Strand, who was on a Cessna plane, took photographs of the spectacular eruption and said the medium format camera was as convenient as a full frame format DSLR. “I set the sensitivity to ISO 200 and the shutter speed to 1/800, and that was it – I was just pointing and shooting,” he said.
