A new forum dedicated to mirrorless camera, a.k.a electronic viewfinder interchangeable lens (EVIL) camera was officially launched today by the team behind the PentaxForums, if I have my information correctly. As of today, the Mirrorless Camera Forums has 486 members, 61 threads and 171 posts.
Olympus, Panasonic, Samsung and Sony — in that order — are the early adopters to this concept, with Nikon at “seriously considering” stage and Pentax looking at the drawing board and “may consider” joining the fray. Canon may shy away at least for now, preferring to manufacture smaller DSLR camera instead to compete with the petite but sophisticated EVIL.
Any which way, we are in for a nasty full-fledged mirrorless war pretty soon.
