Are Photographers Crazy?

Date June 17, 2008

GrassPeople don’t understand sometime why there is a need to take photos of other objects other than human being. Can you believe that?

I wish I couldn’t but you would be surprise to know that there are many people out there who would look at you quizzically when they see you trying to take photos of something not usually taken by most people, the kind of looks that say, “are you crazy or something?”

I don’t understand really. I’ve even had people smirking at me when they saw me trying to compose pictures of flowers at awkward angles.

I mean, what’s wrong with these people? Why, in my country at least, those who take photos of the surroundings but don’t look like tourists, are being looked upon lowly as though they are social outcasts?

What is wrong with you people? Are you normal or something?

When Not Shooting Macro… I Shoot From The Plane

Date March 14, 2008

This is another “When not shooting macro…” post which I regularly post on this blog. I’ve shot probably tons of pictures from the windows of aeroplanes.

Lights_Wings

Although you’d be tied down with shooting just from one tiny window, there’s still a lot of potential to “plane photography”.

Merchant Ships

You can shoot the sky, the ever changing clouds, the aircraft’s wing, the weather outside and the window of the plane itself.

Flying

One setback is you don’t get to shoot the spectacular views of a city because by then the plane would have already been approaching the runway and all electronic devices must already be switched off.
